Single platform solution for benefits

 

A proof of concept created to consolidate government electronic benefits programs for low income families on one digitised platform.

The benefits include Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and WIC for Women, Infants and Children.

76% of adults with household incomes below $30,000 a year own a smartphone in USA. Aided with that fact and some user grievances, an Android application was charted that would allow the families to access the fund statement, discounts and offers, check food items that are eligible for certain programs as well as manage their cards. The application would also be able to notify users incase of unexpected transactions.
